An Unexpected Reunion || Eva and Adam

A daily ride on horseback became one of Eva’s favorite pastimes and she took any chance she could to ride. While Frankenstein grew more overprotective of her, she yearned for any source of freedom she could possess. Horseback riding was one of the few activities she was allowed to do alone since the surrounding forest and fields typically withheld no one else. Still she yearned for the day when she would met someone unfamiliar to her, craving someone new to talk to and connect with.
She pulled on the reigns to halt her horse and jumped off so she could guide the horse to a nearby tree. As she looked up to a familiar tree she often secured her horse to, a tall shadowy figure stood under the shady branches. The sight startled her and she released a yelp by the mere shock of not being alone. Frankenstein told her no one came to the abandoned Monastery and the surrounding areas so did he lie? Or for the first time, was he wrong?
“Oh, I’m sorry! I didn’t know anyone was here,” Eva quickly apologized to the stranger. “No one ever comes here besides me...and now you, I suppose.” She added as her lips formed a tiny smile to ease the mood. She couldn’t make out their face so she stepped a little closer, shortening the distance between them. “Are you just passing through?”
